Clair Obscur is game of the year, but what about everything else? Here are the winners of the 2025 Game Awards

The annual Geoffs are over for another year, leaving a massive Clair Obscur-shaped celebration in its wake. Not unexpectedly, developer Sandfall Interactive's highly acclaimed RPG was crowned Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2025, but what about everything else? Let's find out!
All in all, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 had a pretty fantastic night, taking home not only the coveted Game of the Year gong, but eight other awards too. It won best narrative, best score and music, best art direction, and best game direction, and was named best RPG, best independent game, and best debut indie game too. Additionally, Jennifer English's turn as Maelle was named best performance. That's a big old chunk of wins, but it did leave a few awards for other games too. Hades 2 won best action game, for instance, while Hollow Knight: Silksong walked away with the best action-adventure prize.
Fists were a-flying in the best fighting game category, but Fatal Fury: City Of The Wolves ultimately took home the crown, while Final Fantasy Tactics was deemed best strategy game/sim. Elsewhere, Mario Kart World drove out the competition to win best sports/racing game, and Donkey Kong Bananza put on its most wholesome face to be named best family game. As for multiplayer, Arc Raiders got the top spot, while No Man's Sky was recognised for its ceaseless evolution as the best ongoing game. And high five to The Midnight Walk, which briefly removed its helmet to accept its award for best VR game.
And still we're not done. South of Midnight came top in the Games for Impact category, and Doom: The Dark Ages took the award for innovation in accessibility. As for the Players' Choice award, that was secured by Wuthering Waves. The full winners list is a lengthy one, however, so let us switch to a more digestible format now.
