Rock musician and Hunger Games actor Lenny Kravitz has been revealed as a villain in IO Interactive's Bond origin game, 007 First Light.
Kravitz plays Bawma in the upcoming release, a character said to be "the largest black-market dealer in the Western Hemisphere", who shares the actor's physical likeness.
As well as dabbling in the black-market, Bawma is also "as charismatic as he is unpredictable", IOI shared. This is all shown off in the latest teaser for 007 First Light, which has Bawma giving a short but conceited speech about the city of Aleph being "an extension of [his] being". He then deals with those who have crossed him in a suitably Bond villain-y way. You can check it out below.
Along with Bond and The Hunger Games, Kravitz has also starred in films such as Shotgun Wedding with Jennifer Lopez and The Butler with Forest Whitaker.
"The Bond franchise has such an incredible legacy in video games, so to step into it with a brand-new character like Bawma is amazing," shared Kravitz. "He's magnetic and unpredictable, there's danger in him, but also heart and purpose. He's not just a man with power; he is a man who has to fight for every inch of it.
"Bringing that energy into 007's world felt incredible."
Kravitz's inclusion in 007 First Light actually leaked earlier today, when the above trailer went live ahead of schedule. But, that is all water under the bridge now. 007 First Light will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, and PC on 27th March next year. It has been nominated for Most Anticipated Game at this year's Game Awards.
For more on IOI and Bond, our Alex recently got a closer look at 007 First Light, stating it's "so much more than Hitman", and thanks to "its 'breathing' structure", it looks like "the ultimate composite video game".
Elsewhere at this evening's Game Awards, we got a look at Tomb Raider Catalyst and Divinity.
