Elden Ring Storm Arrow Guide (Shadow of the Erdtree Build) Shadow of the Erdtree Build

In this Elden Ring Build Guide, I’ll be showing you my Ansbach's Longbow build. This is a Shadow of the Erdtree build that takes place after level 150. If you’ve been looking for a bow build for that actually deals damage then you might want to check this build-out.

The Storm Arrow Build features a pure bow build designed specifically for the DLC. Utilizing Ansbach's Longbow and the Albinauric Bow, this build is challenging to play but rewarding for those who master it. Ansbach's Longbow features an excellent Ash of War, and the build incorporates different bows for varied situations.

The build uses two bows: Ansbach's Longbow and the Albinauric Bow. The Albinauric Bow, equipped with Mighty Shot, delivers high damage and is ideal for picking off enemies from a distance. Mighty Shot, a cost-effective Ash of War, allows for one-shot kills on most enemies, conserving arrows and reducing farming time for stormwing bone arrows. The Albinauric Bow is particularly effective in situations where precision and conservation of arrows are crucial, such as in legacy dungeons or the open landscape. Ansbach's Longbow, on the other hand, is equipped with Fan Shot, which fires arrows in a spread pattern and excels in boss fights. This weapon skill has impressive range and damage, capable of tracking and hitting bosses effectively. However, Fan Shot consumes eight arrows per use, making it impractical for regular enemies due to the high arrow consumption. Therefore, the build relies on the Albinauric Bow for general use and reserves Ansbach's Longbow for boss encounters or difficult enemies. The build primarily uses regular arrows and stormwing bone arrows. Regular arrows are easy to purchase in bulk, while stormwing bone arrows provide higher damage and are ideal for Mighty Shot. However, stormwing bone arrows require farming for stormhawk feathers, making their use in Fan Shot less practical due to high consumption. The best farming locations for stormhawk feathers are Stormveil Castle and Crumbling Farum Azula. Regular arrows are preferred for Fan Shot to avoid excessive farming.

For armor, the build uses Lamenter's Mask, which provides some damage negation and resistance while maintaining a light equip load. This is crucial for utilizing the Blue Dancer Charm, which increases physical damage based on equip load. Other lightweight options like the Rock Heart or Priestess Heart can also be used. Initially, the build experimented with the Divine Beast Set to enhance stormhawk arrows, but the drawbacks, such as reduced flask potency and the inability to use the Blue Dancer Charm, led to a shift away from this setup.

Key talismans for this build include the Blue Dancer Charm to increase physical damage based on light equip load, the Arrow's Sting Talisman and Arrow's Soaring Sting Talisman to increase arrow damage and range, enhancing overall effectiveness, and the Shard of Alexander to boost the damage of Mighty Shot and Fan Shot, which are critical for both general combat and boss fights. Alternative talismans like the Ritual Sword Talisman and Crusade Insignia Talisman can be used to increase damage when at full health or after each kill, respectively.

At level 153, the build’s attributes are focused on survivability and effective use of weapon skills. Key attributes include 60 Vigor for health and survivability, 25 Mind for sufficient FP to use weapon skills regularly, and 23 Endurance, which should eventually be increased to 30 or 35 for better stamina management. Strength and Dexterity are balanced at 25 and 65, respectively, to maximize bow damage. The build does not require Intelligence, Faith, or Arcane, but the Lamenter’s Mask provides a small boost to Arcane. This build is designed to minimize buffing during exploration, focusing instead on efficient use of weapon skills and arrows. Buffing is mainly reserved for boss fights, simplifying gameplay and enhancing the overall experience.

The Bloodsucking Cracked Tear, which increases attack power by 20% for three minutes but drains health, and the Crimsonburst Crystal Tear, which offsets the health drain by gradually restoring health. This combination provides a high-risk, high-reward playstyle, increasing damage output while requiring careful health management. The recommended Great Rune for this build is Radahn's Great Rune, which boosts stamina, health, and FP, all essential for this build’s effectiveness.
