Arc Raiders responds to recent player feedback by introducing a new game mode and changing cosmetic prices in Embark Studios' extraction shooter.
After hearing a lot of feedback from the community, Embark Studios announced that it has enabled a duos matchmaking in Arc Raiders and will be lowering the price of store cosmetics moving forward. Arc Raiders has made a big splash in the extraction shooter genre since its release on October 30 and is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
Since its initial release, Arc Raiders has proven to be one of 2025's breakout hits, even overshadowing the likes of Battlefield 6 and breaking the concurrent player record of Helldivers 2. Embark Studios seems to know that it has something special on its hands, as the developer has already announced plans to add a new map, fresh quests, and plenty of other content in the coming weeks and months. While the developers clearly have a plan in place, it seems they've also been keeping a keen eye on feedback from the community.
In a recent post on Twitter, Embark Studios revealed that it will be prioritizing duos matchmaking in Arc Raiders immediately. Previously, when players initiated matchmaking, the community was split into solos and trios. As of right now, matchmaking will also prioritize placing duos with other duos. In the statement from Embark Studios, the developers did note that this isn't a guarantee that a duo will never run into groups of other sizes. Matchmaking will still prioritize getting gamers into matches quickly, which could mean it's possible for a duo to run into different groups. However, this will likely be a big improvement for gamers who primarily prefer to run duos.
Embark Studios has also addressed the high price of cosmetics in Arc Raiders, which will be changing during the next store rotation on November 13. After receiving feedback from the community, the developers have revealed that some cosmetic prices will be lowered moving forward. Players who have already purchased cosmetics that see a decrease in price will be given back the difference in the coming week. This means anyone who has purchased items from the store should keep an eye on their Raider Tokens, because they could be getting some back very soon.
While addressing what players can expect to see next in Arc Raiders, Embark Studios also revealed its approach to Raider Decks. Currently, the game only has one Raider Deck, which is free. In the statement, the developers clarified that there are plans for both free and paid Raider Decks in the future. However, only free Raider Decks will come with new items that can influence gameplay. In an effort to avoid any kind of pay-to-win issues, paid Raider Decks will only contain cosmetics. So far, these decisions seem to be resonating with the community, as many players are already declaring that this is a big win for both Arc Raiders and its players.
